Why Shop Online?

If you’re like me, shopping is something you have to do – don’t get me wrong I love getting new things – but I hate having to trawl around the shops – crowded, noisy, going from store to store, not always finding what I want, taking up lots of my valuable time.

I made a promise to myself at the beginning of the year that I would try to do the majority of my shopping online in order to overcome the problems above.

I came up with the following advantages of online shopping:-

1. You can save money online

The internet is almost like the “perfect high street” – no one retailer has a better shop position than any other, all retailers sites are just a click away, and in terms of homogenous products, such as books, CD’s etc where every retailer is selling the same product, the choice simply comes down to which retailer offers you the combination of excellent service and a competitive price.

With so much competition out there, retailers are competing for your business – and to attract business they issue discount and voucher codes – this is where shrewdshopping.com comes in!

We have access to large numbers of retailers and, as and when they issue discount vouchers we will bring them to you.

We can send these to you quickly if your register for our newsletter, simply click here -> discounts, special offers and voucher codes.

2. It’s more environmentally friendly

OK, the goods have to be delivered but by buying online I avoid having to drive in and out of the city centre, with the congestion and pollution this would cause, as well as the cost of the car parking which, in most cities, is extortionate if we’re honest about it!

3. More choice

If I go into the city centre, then I am limited to the shops there, and the choice of products they have available. Online I can visit many different “shops” in a matter of a few minutes; I can compare lots of different products.

4. I won’t always buy the cheapest

Cheap things rarely good and good things are rarely cheap. I will carefully consider what I am going to buy in advance, and part of my buying decision is to use an online retailer I can trust.

5. I can shop 24/7

This probably comes under item 1 above – but to me this is one of the over-riding factors in favour of online shopping. I invariably want to shop when the shops are not open – and I don’t really want to push a trolley around a 24 hours supermarket at 3 in the morning!

6. More technical detail

Most websites provide considerable amounts of technical information – specifications etc for their products and with a quick look at a search engine I can find out whether “system A” or “system B” is the preferred choice. Whilst I find most shop assistants to be courteous and helpful I am often frustrated at their lack of technical knowledge.

This is not always their fault – they can only be as good as they are trained to be. Sometimes I also have to admit I don’t trust their “recommendations”.

7. See what other people who have bought the product think

There is no better way to reinforce your decision to buy a product or service than to hear/read what other people who have bought it think. Many sites offer the opportunity for people to leave reviews – and by “carefully” reading these reviews you can often help yourself decided between products or brands.

8. It’s safe

There is no better feeling than shopping from the security of your own living room! No chance of being mugged or attacked, of losing your purse, handbag or wallet, and the products are delivered safely to your door.

9. It’s secure

When shopping online always ensure you that you use a trusted merchant. The majority of retailers we work with to bring you discount codes, vouchers and special offers will be household brands which you already know.

All purchases should be made through a secure server – in this instance your address bar will normally show a web address starting with an “https” – indicating that it is secure, and there will be a little yellow triangle at the bottom, right hand corner of your web-browser.

1o. It’s less stressful!

I can shop online at a time and place which is convenient to me – I don’t have to go walking from shop to shop with all the crowds of people, noise, inconvenience etc.
